It’s August Already…

Dear Members,

I cannot believe August is here already. The summer is flying by and school will be starting soon. That means the Swiss Festival is just around the corner.
We have a few other events to highlight before the festival including the 34th Annual Sugarcreek Business Association Auction and the Golf Outing.
The auction will be held on Friday, August 13 at the pavilion behind the Sugarcreek Fire Department. There are a lot of great items on the block, so plan to join us for a great evening. This event also serves as our main fundraiser, so please help out where you can. Continue reading

July Updates

Dear Members,

Summer is definitely here. One sure sign is that our lunch meeting attendance is very low. I know we are all a lot busier this time of year, but please try to make an effort to join us each Wednesday for good food, fun prizes and the opportunity to learn what is going on behind the scenes of Sugarcreek.
Another 50s Fling is in the books. The Cruise-In was a great success this year with over 200 cars. The show itself on Saturday was not as well attended as we would have liked due to threatening weather. Those who did come out – had a great time. Please start planning now for how your business can help at next year’s event as it will be revamped to better serve our guests. Continue reading

June News

Summer is here! A few days ago I was sitting on my deck, relaxing after work and I saw fireflies! Yet another sign that summer is here is the Fabulous 50s Fling. I cannot believe it it here already. A lot of work and planning has gone into this event so be sure to come out for the cool cars, great food and music. There is still time to volunteer to work any of the tents or food lines that are manned throughout the day as well as Friday night. Continue reading

May thoughts

Dear Members,

Wow! Can you believe May is here? The year seems to be flying by. Our first big event of the year has been completed. Celebrate Sugarcreek was a wonderful evening of fellowship and good food. It was really exciting to hear the honorees express their gratitude and tell stories of days gone by. I hope more of you take the opportunity to attend this incredible event next year.

The Vintage Garden Tractor Show is in the final stages of planning. The May 8 event continues to grow and get better each year. There are things to do for all age groups so bring the family out for a good time. Continue reading

January Message

Dear Members,

It’s hard to believe we are already starting a new year. 2009 flew by and I hope you had a chance to celebrate the holidays with your family and friends.
I am looking forward to serving the community as the 2010 SBA President. I have some high hopes for the year as I am sure all incoming presidents of the past have had. Some of my goals for the year are to increase attendance at meetings, get more members involved in our activities, and better market Sugarcreek as a great place to live, work and bring your family.
I would like to have guest speakers at our meetings on a regular basis. We have many knowledgeable people in our community that could pass along very interesting and helpful information. If you know of anyone who would be a possibility for this, please get me the contact information. Continue reading

November Message

Dear Members,
November is here.  As usual, it’s a time when the  season’s change is in full effect and we’re given opportunities  to reflect.

Veteran’s Day this week (as of my writing) comes for us to remember and acknowledge the  service  that our military veterans have  given to our country and the service that our current service men and women are putting forth on our behalf – not that they should ever be far from your mind  if you pay attention to the news.
